Confirmed: Aaron Ramsdale joins Southampton

Premier League side Southampton announced Saturday that Aaron Ramsdale will join the club from Sheffield United.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper, who represented England at youth levels, has signed a four-year contract with the Saints.

Ramsdale has been Sheffield United's first-choice goalkeeper since the club's promotion to the Premier League in 2019. He made 38 appearances in all competitions last season as the Blades finished ninth in the table.

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl said: "I am very pleased to welcome Aaron to Southampton. He is a young, talented goalkeeper with great potential."

"He has shown his quality in the Premier League with Sheffield United and I am confident that he can continue to develop and improve here at Southampton."

Ramsdale is Southampton's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of defender Willy Caballero on a free transfer.
